端午中原三大要害节日之一，再有两个是年节和八月节。

1.粽子的英文是: rice dumpling/rice dumplings ,包粽子即是： make rice dumplings .这是比较书面包车型的士叫法，现在慢慢巨匠叫的比较随意，这种官方的叫法用的人也不是很多了。

2.粽子 (tsung-tse/tzung tzu)，这种拼写和发音，更像是来日华语的英文翻译。普遍于现在的“清华大学大学(招生办公室)(Tsinghua University)”。那是保持约定俗成的了。究竟人家保持是世纪老校了，而且辞世界上有保持是特殊驰名了。

3.粽子: zongzi，因为中原独占的食物，从来很多词是用径直翻译成英语的，因为文雅后盾各别。对于现在的汉文语汇翻译成英文的，很多都是径直华语拼音了。比如：饺子(Jiao Zi)，纷歧定要说是“dumpling”，老外都领略的。再有中原的本领(Chinese Kongfu)，保持妇孺皆知了。一致沿用的翻译法即是先说拼音，再用英语大概表白：

屈原投江Qu Yuan jumped off river的故事

The Dragon Boat Festival is one of three major Chinese holidays, along with the Spring and Moon Festivals. Of the three, it is possibly the oldest, dating back to the Warring States Period in 227 B.C. The festival commemorates Qu Yuan, a minister in the service of the Chu Emperor. Despairing over corruption at court, Qu threw himself into a river.

端午与年节和八月节并名列中原三大德日。这三个节日中，它大约是最陈腐的一个，无妨探求到纪元前227年的战国功夫。这个节日是为了祝贺楚国的医生屈原，他因为对宫廷的陈腐陈旧感受悲观而投井自尽。

After his death, the people of Chu crowded to the bank of the river to pay their respects to him. The fishermen sailed their boats up and down the river to look for his body. People threw into the water zongzi (pyramid-shaped glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in reed or bamboo leaves) and eggs to divert possible fish or shrimp from attacking his body. An old doctor poured a jug of reaglar wine (Chinese liquor seasoned with realgar) into the water, hoping to turn all aquatic beasts drunk. That’s why people later followed the customs such as dragon boat racing, eating zongzi and drinking realgar wine on that day.

风闻屈原死后，楚国民代表大会众忧伤特出，纷纷涌到汨罗江边去凭吊屈原。渔夫们划起船只，在江上往复打捞他的真身。有位渔夫拿出为屈原筹措的饭团、果儿等食物，“扑通、扑通”地丢进江里，说是让鱼龙虾蟹吃饱了，就不会去咬屈医生的身体了。人们见后纷纷仿制。一位老大夫则拿来一坛雄绍兴酒倒进江里，说是要药晕蛟龙水兽，以免妨碍屈医生。厥后为怕饭团为蛟龙所食，人们想出用楝树叶包伙，外缠彩丝，震撼成棕子。
